Homeopathy is all set to grow more than double in the next three years. As per a report brought out by ASSOCHAM, industry is expected to grow by approx. 25 – 30% every year. Interesting part of report is the trend is not only restricted to India, but also making waves across UK, US and France. France contributes to largest market for Homeopathy, at over $1 billion, the industry stands bigger than India. Reason for growth: Patients are generating more faith in Homeopathy – it is becoming alternative to allopathic medicines because of its side effects and fake contents problems. Many feel homeopathy is more personalized treatment, with greater one-on-one interaction between the patient and the physician. Another reason for its growth is that Homeopathy is also accessible online by over a crore patients in this country. There are approx. 4 lakh registered homeopaths in the country as of now, with around 13,000 more being added each year.
Study also states loopholes in the industry: Lack of Hospitals and institutions, and poor distribution network of Homeopathic products.
